Privacy Policy

Effective date: October 1, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Steadyworks (“Steadyworks,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, and shares information about you when you visit steadyworks.org (the “Site”), create an account, purchase a course, or otherwise interact with us. By using the Site, you agree to the practices described below.

Who we are

Steadyworks is an online business that sells self-paced courses and related digital materials. Our website address is https://steadyworks.org. If you have any questions about this policy or your information, you can reach us at hello@steadyworks.org.

Information we collect

Information you give us. When you create an account, buy a course, leave a comment, or contact us, we may collect:

  • Your name and email address
  • Your billing address, phone number, and related details needed to complete a purchase
  • Account login information (such as your username and password)
  • Any messages, comments, or information you send us directly

Payment information. When you make a purchase, your payment card details are collected and processed directly by our payment processor, Stripe. We do not receive or store your full card number. We may receive limited information such as the last four digits of your card, the card type, and whether a payment succeeded.

Course activity. Our course platform, Tutor LMS, records information about your learning activity, such as the courses you’re enrolled in, your progress through lessons, and any quiz responses or completion status. Tutor LMS and our store software (WooCommerce) run on our own website and store this information in our site’s database, hosted by Hostinger — they do not send your data to a separate company.

Information collected automatically. When you use the Site, we and our service providers may automatically collect information such as your IP address, browser and device type, the products and pages you view, and the dates and times of your visits. Some of this is collected through cookies and similar technologies.

Cookies and similar technologies

We use cookies and similar technologies to:

  • Keep you logged in and remember your preferences (WordPress sets login and session cookies when you sign in)
  • Remember the contents of your shopping cart while you browse (WooCommerce)
  • Help the Site load faster through caching
  • Understand how the Site is used so we can improve it

Some cookies are essential for the Site, login, and checkout to work, while others are optional. You can control cookies through your browser settings, but disabling certain cookies may affect how the Site functions, including your ability to log in or complete a purchase.

How we use your information

  • Process your orders and give you access to the courses and materials you purchase
  • Create and manage your account and track your course progress
  • Send you transactional messages, such as receipts, course-access details, and account notices
  • Respond to your questions, refund requests, and support needs
  • Send you marketing or promotional emails, where you have opted in (you can unsubscribe at any time)
  • Operate, maintain, secure, and improve the Site and our courses
  • Detect, prevent, and address fraud, abuse, or security issues
  • Comply with our legal obligations, such as tax and accounting requirements

Third-party services we use

We rely on the following third-party services to operate the Site. When you use the Site, some information may be shared with or processed by these providers. We encourage you to review their privacy policies.

  • Stripe (payments). We use Stripe to process payments. When you pay, information needed to process or support the payment — such as your name, billing details, and purchase total — is passed to Stripe. See stripe.com/privacy.
  • Hostinger (web hosting). Our Site is hosted by Hostinger, which stores our website data and may log technical information such as IP addresses and access times as part of providing hosting services. See hostinger.com/legal/privacy-policy.
  • QUIC.cloud / LiteSpeed Cache (performance). We use caching to make the Site faster. This may involve temporarily storing copies of pages, and we may use QUIC.cloud services to process and cache data temporarily. Cache files are temporary and are not used to identify you. See quic.cloud/privacy-policy.
  • YouTube / Google (embedded video). Our course lessons include videos embedded from YouTube. When you watch an embedded video, YouTube and Google may set cookies and collect information about your interaction, as if you had visited YouTube directly. See policies.google.com/privacy.
  • Gravatar / Automattic (profile images). If you leave a comment, an anonymized string created from your email address (a “hash”) may be provided to the Gravatar service to check whether you use it. See automattic.com/privacy.
  • Email service provider. We use an email service to send transactional messages (like receipts and course access) and, where you opt in, marketing emails. Your email address and related delivery information are processed by that provider for these purposes.

We do not sell your personal information.

Who on our team has access

Steadyworks is operated by a small team. Administrators can access order information (such as what was purchased and when) and customer information (such as name, email, and billing details) in order to fulfill orders, process refunds, and provide support.

Other ways we may share information

  • Legal and safety — if required by law, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Steadyworks, our customers, or others.
  • Business transfers — in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction.

How long we keep your information

We keep your information for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide you access to the courses you purchased. We retain order and transaction records for as long as required to meet our legal, tax, and accounting obligations. When information is no longer needed, we take reasonable steps to delete or anonymize it.

Data security

We take reasonable measures to protect your information from loss, misuse, and unauthorized access, and we rely on reputable providers (such as Stripe for payments) who maintain their own security standards. However, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Your rights and choices

Marketing emails. You can opt out of marketing emails at any time using the unsubscribe link in those messages. We may still send you non-promotional messages related to your account or purchases.

Access and deletion. You may request a copy of the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it, subject to certain legal exceptions (for example, records we must keep for tax purposes). To make a request, email hello@steadyworks.org.

U.S. state privacy rights. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under state privacy laws (such as the California Consumer Privacy Act), including the right to know what personal information we collect, to request deletion, and not to be discriminated against for exercising your rights. We do not sell your personal information.

EEA/UK residents. If you are located in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, you may have rights under the GDPR, including the rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to our processing of your personal data, and to data portability. To exercise these rights, contact us at hello@steadyworks.org.

Children’s privacy

The Site is not directed to children under the age of 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will take steps to delete it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Effective date” at the top of this page. Your continued use of the Site after any changes means you accept the updated policy.
